Sound insulation and absorption for industry and engineering

High-density materials, such as environmentally friendly, recycled composite foam materials, are often used for sound insulation. In connection with sound absorption, however, PUR flexible foam materials are an excellent choice because of their open cellular structure and thus the larger surface area.

 

Vibration absorption made out of PE-foam for industry and engineering

Thanks to their vibration- and shock-absorbing properties, foam materials made of polyurethane or polyethylene are ideal for technical applications, mechanical engineering, and the automotive industry. Materials such as sponge rubber or cellular rubber are processed and used for these purposes.

Closed-cell materials such as PE foam, sponge rubber (with outer skin), or cellular rubber are particularly well suited for sealing. Their closed cellular structure prevents gaseous or liquid materials from leaking through, while their flexibility simultaneously ensures that the material adapts perfectly for an optimal seal.

Special open-pored PUR foam materials are employed for filtration.  These filter foam materials have so-called “controlled pores”, i.e. a defined, uniform cell size that can differ depending on the application. Special chemical or physical methods can further increase the open cellular structure.
