We are all part of a larger community
Companies are made up of people, and people are inherently social. Valuing and respecting individuals means addressing their social needs and recognising our role as a responsible and active participant in the broader community. With this in mind, we focus on two key objectives within social responsibility:

1. Attractive and safe workplaces
We spend a large portion of our lives at work, and we all have similar desires and expectations: safety, a supportive work environment, mutual respect, and fair, equitable remuneration. To fulfil these expectations, we prioritise flexible, family-friendly working models. Our employee-focused management approach, combined with continuous training, team-building activities, coaching, and a strong emphasis on workplace health, ensures that we achieve our business objectives through the efforts of motivated, healthy employees. Our own remuneration system, with a wide range of voluntary benefits, ensures appropriate and fair compensation.
2. Social responsibility
As a locally rooted company, we are actively involved in our community and region. For many years, we’ve collaborated closely with the workshop for people with disabilities in St. Katharinen, providing several external work placements within our company. We also actively support our employees’ involvement in community initiatives, such as the voluntary fire brigade. We regularly make both financial and in-kind donations to regional organisations and clubs, and provide emergency aid at both national and international levels when required.
Measures to achieve goals

In-house remuneration system
We’ve developed an in-house remuneration system that is modelled on industry-specific collective agreements in the plastics sector. This system ensures fair and competitive remuneration while also rewarding experience, flexibility, and the assumption of responsibility.

Voluntary benefits
Our remuneration scheme is enhanced by a range of voluntary benefits. These include traditional perks such as holiday and Christmas bonuses, asset-building contributions, overtime and shift allowances, as well as increased pension contributions and a bike-to-work scheme.

Flexible, family-friendly working time models
In addition to remuneration, work-life balance is increasingly important. At Pahlke, this is nothing new. As a family-run business, we’ve been offering flexible, family-friendly working arrangements for decades. In recent years, we’ve expanded these to include flexitime and remote working options.

Varied activities with plenty of responsibility
With hundreds of customers and thousands of different items across multiple industries, no two days are the same. Each order brings something new, and our skilled and experienced employees handle their work with autonomy and responsibility.

Professional development
We promote skills and expertise through regular internal training and external seminars and courses. Whether its foundational knowledge or specialist expertise, professional development is a core value at Pahlke.

Workplace health initiatives
We’re committed to ensuring our employees are not only skilled and motivated but also healthy. In 2023, we launched a long-term health initiative that includes a range of specific measures, developed and implemented across both our production and administrative departments.

Employee-centric leadership
Modern leadership is centred around employees. During annual performance reviews, we discuss goals and ways to reach them, as well as individual contributions and growth opportunities. To support this, our managers regularly attend leadership training sessions and receive external support when needed.

Team building & coaching measures
Regular interaction between and within teams enhances communication and fosters a seamless, efficient workflow. To support this, we offer both internal and external team-building and coaching activities.

Corporate celebrations & events
Whether it’s our Christmas parties with gift exchanges and raffles, company outings near and far, family-friendly events, public viewings of major sporting events, or simply a breakfast to honour deserving employees—at Pahlke, we believe in celebrating hard work and dedication!

Monetary & in-kind donations
As a family-owned business with over 65 years of deep local roots, we take our responsibility seriously and actively support our community through both monetary and in-kind donations. This includes contributions such as new kits for the local football team and financial support for regional aid organisations.

Promoting social engagement
We are always happy to support our employees in their efforts to engage in social causes. Whether it’s participating in local blood donation campaigns or serving in the volunteer fire brigade, we ensure our employees are given the necessary time off to contribute to these important initiatives.

Cooperation with social institutions
For many years now, we have been working closely with social organisations, such as workshops for individuals with disabilities. Employees from these workshops either perform tasks in our internal workgroups or, through external job placements, work directly within our company.
